Farmer's Electric works out of 506 N Central Ave in Turlock and travels roughly 35 miles in every direction — from Oakdale down to Merced. If you're inside that circle, we can usually get to you fast.
Call (209) 325-5597Our Hometown
Turlock sits at the heart of the Central Valley, about 100 miles east of the Bay Area and just off Highway 99. It grew up around dairy, poultry and irrigated farmland, and today it's a city of roughly 73,000 people anchored by California State University, Stanislaus and a walkable downtown along Main Street.
That history matters for electrical work. Neighborhoods around Broadway Park and downtown include homes built well before modern wiring standards — ungrounded two-prong outlets, 60- and 100-amp panels, and the occasional knob-and-tube remnant. Newer developments on the north and east sides of town have the opposite problem: plenty of capacity, but not enough circuits for EV chargers, shop tools and pool equipment.
We know the local landmarks and the local inspectors alike — the Turlock Regional Sports Complex, the Carnegie Arts Center, the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, Donnelly Park and the Turlock Downtown Certified Farmers Market. Being based here means a same-day call in Turlock is usually a short drive, not a scheduling problem.
Countywide
Stanislaus County covers about 1,500 square miles between the San Joaquin River and the Sierra foothills, with Modesto as the county seat and roughly 550,000 residents spread across nine incorporated cities — Modesto, Turlock, Ceres, Oakdale, Riverbank, Patterson, Newman, Waterford and Hughson — plus dozens of unincorporated farm communities.
It's one of the most productive agricultural regions in the country: almonds, walnuts, dairy and poultry, with landmarks like the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, the McHenry Mansion, Knights Ferry Covered Bridge and the Tuolumne River Regional Park.
Electrical needs out here swing from downtown storefronts to well pumps two miles down a dirt road. We work all of it: residential panel upgrades and lighting in the cities, commercial tenant improvements and retrofits along the 99 corridor, and pump panels, barn wiring and irrigation controls on county parcels. Long underground runs, dust, summer heat over 100°F and Valley fog aren't edge cases for us — they're what we design around.
Nearby Cities
Beyond Turlock, we cover the surrounding Stanislaus County cities and the northern Merced County line. Don't see your town? Call (209) 325-5597 — if you're close to the list below, we'll come out.

The Cowboy Capital of the World — fitting territory for us. Oakdale ranch and rural properties often need pump panels, barn lighting and long underground feeder runs.
A small orchard town surrounded by almonds and peaches. We serve Hughson homes and farm operations with troubleshooting, lighting and 240-volt equipment circuits.
Rural parcels and older farmhouses where knob-and-tube remnants and undersized panels are common. We rewire carefully and pull the permits when the job calls for it.
A quick trip down Highway 99, so Keyes is one of the easiest places for us to reach same-day for outages, dead circuits and emergency repair.
